Oura Church, the oldest existing church in Japan, is part of the World Cultural Heritage "Hidden Christian Sites in the Nagasaki Region." It is renowned as the site where hidden Christians, who had concealed their faith during the over two centuries of the ban on Christianity, revealed to Father Petitjean that they were Christians. This Gothic-style church, adorned with beautiful stained glass, exudes a historic and solemn atmosphere.
