Akama Shrine
Akama Shrine, located in Shimonoseki City, Yamaguchi Prefecture, is dedicated to Emperor Antoku and the Heike clan warriors who perished in the Battle of Dan-no-ura in 1185. The shrine is known for its striking vermilion gate and scenic water gate that faces the sea. It also features the Hoichi Hall, dedicated to the famous blind biwa player Hoichi.
